Coloring activities can help to improve your children’s motor skills. The motions used in coloring such as scribbling with crayons and holding the tools can help to develop the small muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists. Fine motor skills can help your child manipulate small objects and write. That helps your child to have better academic performance.
Coloring gives children an opportunity to express their creative side. It allows them to think about different color combinations they can use to create their own unique picture. Do not get upset if children are not coloring properly or if they choose to color outside the lines. Teach children how to fill a space and color in different directions. Whether they stay in the lines or not, coloring fosters a creative spirit and an appreciation for visual differences. Coloring can spark the imagination and inspire children to brainstorm and learn to think of new ideas on their own naturally.
Some good old fashioned quality time with you, your child and a colouring book can be just what is needed to make any day ok. It’s a quiet space (sometimes!) where you can interact with the children during their peaceful playtime and just chat. What could be better.
